Alumni Advisory Council
Alumni/Student Mentoring Program

On 21 November 2001, the WSSU Computer Science Alumni Advisory 
Council (CSAAC) met with computer science majors regarding the 
CSAAC mentoring program.  The goal is to assign each Major to 
one of the computer science alumni.  Pairings will be done at 
the start of each semester.  The program promises to be a great 
asset for the students in the WSSU Computer Science department.  
If you would like to contribute to the success of this effort, 
please complete the applicable Mentor or Protege Information form.  
Ms. Lou Tillman is the chairperson of the Program.  Forward 
questions or comments to Ms. Tillman (loutillman@aol.com) and copy 
Dr. Elva Jones (jonese@wssu.edu). 

We are in the process of updating our CSAAC e-mail list and the 
Alumni e-mail list.  Please send Dr. Jones any e-mail addresses 
you have and copy Ms. Tillman.

(1) Assignments will include all computer science alumni who are 
    willing to participate;

(2) Alumni will communicate with majors via e-mail at least once 
    per week

(3) If on campus, the alumni will make an effort to meet face-to-face 
    with the major (including participation in the annual alumni 
    reception held at homecoming)

(4) Alumni will share suggestions for career success strategies and 
    inform the mentee of technological advances
