CSC Internships
Experiential Learning in Computer Science
CS Internships are coordinated by the Computer Science Department
May Intern 1,2, or more terms (may be consecutive if part-time or alternating if full-time)
Must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA or better
Must have earned at least 60 semester hours
Must have passed the CS proficiency exam
Positions are paid or voluntary with no pay (full-time = 40 hrs wk; part-time = 20 hrs wk or less)
PROCEDURES
(Start the process 6mo - 1yr before desired internship term)
Prepare your resume' and give it to Dr. Jones for approval
Submit approved resume' to Dr. Jones
Complete required interviewing training sessions in Computer Science or Career Services
Search for an internship position (on your own and via CS referrals)
Interview for positions that are appropriate for your Option Area
Accept the appropriate offer and meet with Dr. Jones to complete Internship Assessment Plan
Register for CSC 3130 (1-3 semester hours based upon hours worked per week)
Assessments: weekly e-mail status reports to Dr. Jones, supervisor evaluation, final report, Seminar (CS Dept.)
