CERTIFICATE IN COMPUTER PROGRAMMING


Certificate in Computer Programming Interest Form

The Certificate in Computer Programming, a post-baccalaureate program, is designed for those wishing to make a career change to become computer programmers or computer applications developers. The certificate program is open only to individuals who have earned the BS or BA degree (in any field). The program is designed with scheduling flexibility to accommodate the needs of working adults.

WEB ASSISTED LEARNING:

  • Internet based instruction (local students may sit in on lectures if desired)
  • Flexible scheduling (completion time determined by student)
  • Periodic classroom sessions (scheduled by the professor)
REQUIREMENTS:
CSC 3360 Fundamentals of Programming                  year 1
CSC 3361  Intermediate Programming                        year 1

To continue in the Certificate program, students must pass CSC 3360 and
CSC 3361 with an average grade of "B" or better, and pass a programming 
proficiency examination. The student must complete the following courses
with a grade of "C" or better.

CSC 3370  Fundamentals of Internet Systems             year 2
CSC 3371  Applied Data Structures                             year 2
CSC 3373  Web Programming                                    year 2
CSC 3374  File Management with JCL                        year 2
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:
Students completing this program will be qualified as entry-level
programmers(C++, Java, web programming, etc.), computer applications 
specialists, and will also satisfy minimum requirements for admission 
to graduate programs in computer science.
